Description

AD Arms Billet Ruger Precision/American Rifle Cocking Piece
***This Pin Back is compatible with new Gen 2 American rifles***
*NOTE* This firing pin back is not compatible with RPR/American rimfire rifles.
This product is a billet RPR/American Firing Pin Back or cocking piece developed by AD Arms in response to the breakages many have experienced with the factory metal injection molded part. The design allows it to replace the factory part with ease.
This cocking piece is machined from a pre-hardened 4140 alloy billet. It is then nitrided for increased hardness, wear-resistance and corrosion protection. This fully-machined part will get the job done without risk of failure.
Furthermore, this firing pin back is lighter than the stock part. Because it is lighter, it increases lock-time performance while the hardness of the material decreases cocking effort.

Ruger cocking piece
Excellent product! I've yet to shoot with it on but just installing this part dropped my trigger pull weight by 1/4 lb and it functions MUCH more smoothly when cycling the bolt, the bolt closes a lot easier with this cocking piece installed! The craftsmanship on this product is superb!

High Quality Part!
I ordered this part to replace the OEM MIM part. The replacement piece is well machined and nicely coated. Once installed on my RPR, did a lot of dry firing prior taking it to the range. It worked flawlessly and I noticed the bolt jump when dry firing on an empty chamber, is significantly reduced. I’ve only shot 20 rounds since installing, doing load development, but so far, the cocking piece has worked well with no malfunctions. Extremely pleased with it so far. Given the quality, I expect the part to hold up well. I highly recommend!

AD Arms Firing Pin Back
I was part of the prototype testing and can say that functionally it's near identical to the factory piece. The one difference is an unexpected one but I would consider it a big plus, it reduces bolt lift by roughly a pound. This might not sound like a big deal but with three lug bolt the lift weights tend to be heavier than two lug designs and this piece helps that as a side effect of the harder smoother surface. On top of that happy extra I don't have to worry about this piece failing which does give me confidence in picking up my RPR and Americans as go to rifles for hunting or PRS matches. All in all I'm very happy with the prototypes that I tested and would definitely recommend the finished models as an insurance package against failures.
