**Ruger has recently updated their design for short action Ruger Precision Rifles. We are currently working on updated parts to accommodate their new firing pin design. Below is a picture of the new design (left) and the older (right) . If your short action RPR firing pin has the newer design (left), our aftermarket firing pins, and cocking pieces are not yet compatible. Please check back in a few weeks for compatible parts for the new design. (All Magnum aftermarket parts are still compatible with the Magnum RPR)** moved

Ruger Precision Rifle Firing Pin & Shroud Retainer

The Ruger Precision Rifle Firing Pin and Shroud Retainer is a complete replacement for the RPR. This is a must have for all PRS and competition shooters. The factory shroud retainer has the possibility to fail after 1800 to 2500 rounds.

Old Style (Ruger Precision): Any caliber other than magnum will be compatible.

Old Style (Ruger American): Calibers including 22 ARC, 6.5 Grendal, 7.62x39, 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308 Win, and 7mm-08 Rem will be compatible.

Ranch Models: Calibers including Gen.1 .223/.556, and 300 Blackout will be compatible.

New Style: Any caliber other than magnum will be compatible.

I needed an extra firing pin so my gunsmith could machine it as a spare during a firing pin bushing job. Excellent fit / finish!

looks like a good upgrade, but very difficult to install. this is not the fault of the product, but the extremely heavy firing pin spring on the rifle. i tried, but drew quite a bit of blood from my finger tip. will let someone else put it on.

After reading some posts that the Ruger Precision Rifle factory firing pin is prone to failures I purchased this drop in replacement, installed it, checked protrusion and fired 5 rounds. It functioned as advertised. I'd recommend this product to others.
