I bought this for a left handed Ruger American 30-06, it really cleaned up what to me was the cheapest looking part of the action/bolt, worth the money.

I felt like I was waiting for the stock bolt shroud to break. Maybe it would have been fine for the life of the rifle, but I didn’t have confidence in it. Not so with the AO replacement shroud. It has a precise feel, and will certainly outlast me.

You own a Ruger American and you cannot stand the cheap plastic bolt shroud. The rifle shoots so well and deserves better. You search the internet an find Anarchy Outdoors. The part isn't cheap. You look at the reviews, maybe you can justify the purchase. You know you hate the plastic shroud. I want to tell you it's worth it. The fit and finish is beyond exceptional. It will take you longer to find a video on how to take the crappy plastic one off, then it will take to do the job. Shipping was fast and timely.

A minor irritation of the Ruger American is the flimsy plastic bolt shroud. As a replacement, I initially thought these were a bit pricey, but I was dead wrong. They're machined from solid aluminum and beautifully finished and anodized. Plus, I feel safer if a case should ever rupture. Installation took about 10 seconds. Many thanks to anarchy outdoors.
