You own a Ruger American and you cannot stand the cheap plastic bolt shroud. The rifle shoots so well and deserves better. You search the internet an find Anarchy Outdoors. The part isn't cheap. You look at the reviews, maybe you can justify the purchase. You know you hate the plastic shroud. I want to tell you it's worth it. The fit and finish is beyond exceptional. It will take you longer to find a video on how to take the crappy plastic one off, then it will take to do the job. Shipping was fast and timely.

A minor irritation of the Ruger American is the flimsy plastic bolt shroud. As a replacement, I initially thought these were a bit pricey, but I was dead wrong. They're machined from solid aluminum and beautifully finished and anodized. Plus, I feel safer if a case should ever rupture. Installation took about 10 seconds. Many thanks to anarchy outdoors.

Outstanding fit and finish for the price. The bolt feels much smoother now that the cheap plastic shroud is gone- definitely worth the upgrade, this is a piece I'm confident will last for years.

Not sure why Ruger made this part plastic, I'm sure it was to save cost and maybe weight?
This shroud replacement may not be truly needed but I would rather have some more durable than a plastic piece.
Nicely made, still lightweight, but more durable than the plastic OEM.
